Mouseposé App Reviews

Love this app!

I get eye fatigue pretty easily looking at my 24 inch computer screen (even when I had it set to low brightness), and this app does what I was hoping for. You can tweek how large you want the "spotlight" to be, and you can tweek how dark the background is too. I am currently using Mavericks, and this app has worked flawlesly for me. The only wish I have for this app would be if you could check off a setting that would allow the mouse pointer to disappear when the mouse has not been touched in several seconds. This kind of option would be really useful for watching youtube videos. This is probably soemthing that apple would have more control over than the makers of this app thought.

Excellent polished app, and works with Parallels

This is a great app for showing somebody how to do something — it makes it very easy for them to follow along. (Also, of course, great for those instances where you’re having trouble finding the cursor yourself.) I actually prefer to pop the “spotlight” up momentarily to punctuate something I’m doing, rather than running it the whole time. It works great for this, and is really easy if you have a mouse with an extra side button that you can use to activate/deactivate it. The option to show keyboard commands really is the icing on this app — functional and flexible. Overall, I can’t think of any settings that I want that aren’t already there. Just a very well thought-out product. One thing I really like about Mouseposé is that it works beautifully with Parallels, which means I can use the spotlight and the "visual mouseclicks" even in Windows. Ive been using this since version 1; and although I only use it rarely, its extremely useful on those occasions when I do need it. Good stuff.

No start/stop animation?

I bought this software because of this claim in the description: "With multiple huge high resolution displays connected to your computer, "find the tiny mouse pointer" has become a popular game. Mouseposé is your cheat, with the elegant start/stop animation being designed to draw your eyes toward the mouse pointer, wherever it might be hiding.” The software does *nothing* when you start or stop moving the mouse. Only when you activate the app with a Hotkey.

Great when it works

The app hasnt been updated in a while and seems to crash consistently. But when it works, its wonderful.

Used to work great, now it just crashes.

I loved Mouseposé and used it when creating tutorial screencasts so users could see my mouseclicks. It was a slick little utility. Now with El Capitan, Mouseposé no longer works. Enabling the mouse click animation causes a grey screen of death on the first mouse click. I’m hoping the developer can address the issue, but I’m guessing this app is end-of-life since the last version was 15 months ago.
